It is great to work with the individuals and help them learn new tasks and achieve their goals. There is always a challenge or goal but knowing that you are part of a team and have the support from your co-workers, family and community can always make that challenge or goal easier to achieve.

My purpose in life is to help people. That is where I find joy in my life. Working with our Participants at Embark and with our Interns at Project SEARCH is so fulfilling. I love seeing growth in others. Watching someone work through their problems to find that they can be successful is such a great feeling. Knowing that I play a part in their growth and success brings me so much pride and gratification. Working in the community gives me the opportunity to educate our community about adults with disabilities. Teaching others that people with disabilities CAN be successful and they CAN be productive members of our communities is so important. There are no words to describe watching someone break barriers, build confidence, and realize how much they are capable of. What we all do at Embark is so important. I have found my calling and I am beyond proud of the work we do.
I enjoy being a part of Embark because as a DVR Case Manager, I am able to not only meet and grow professional relationships with a diverse population, but I also see DVR consumers achieve their goals in employment. The individual can find the employment that they want. They advocate for themselves and their dreams. To see an outcome where the consumer is happy, feels valued and heard is why I enjoy assisting individuals with disabilities into integrated community employment!
Working at Embark is awesome, to be around the most caring hardworking and dedicated people with IDD it’s like a big family. They bring laughter, adventure and personality. As a job coach we are the secret weapon to ensure our participants succeed in life and have the skills to work independently in our community.
